Updated with new gameplay video!
Surprising very few in the pinball hobby (particularly if you've been paying attention to our Hype Index rankings), Stern Pinball has officially confirmed that The Foo Fighters will be their next cornerstone release. There have been rumors for some time that Foo Fighters pinball was on Stern's radar, and those rumors have been justified.
The teaser video (embedded below) features the song All My Life off of the 2002 album One By One, and an animated short video featuring some (presumably) invading aliens and all the members of The Foo Fighters band, including recently deceased Taylor Hawkins. The animation style no doubt plays to the strengths of artist Zombie Yeti, and we're looking forward to seeing what designer Jack Danger has done with his first cornerstone game.
No release date has been announced yet, however Stern will be releasing a small number of the Limited Edition models on their website starting at 11am CST on Tuesday, February 28th.
Foo Fighters is an American rock band formed in 1994 by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl. After the death of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, Grohl recorded a demo album featuring himself on all instruments, and decided to form a band to support the album. The band's self-titled debut album was released in 1995 and included hit singles "This Is a Call" and "Big Me". Over the years, Foo Fighters have released a string of successful albums, including The Colour and the Shape, There Is Nothing Left to Lose, One by One, and Wasting Light. They are known for their energetic live shows and their blending of punk, hard rock, and pop influences. The band has won numerous awards, including multiple Grammy Awards, and is widely regarded as one of the most successful and influential rock bands of the past few decades.
