Weekend Watch: The 4th Annual Pinball Degenerate Awards

As winter finally gives way to spring the pinball awards show circuit (if you can call two award shows a circuit) comes to a close with the 4th installment of The Pinball Degenerate Awards. Long a favorite show of this publication (this is our 3rd year covering it) we'll be tuning in live this Saturday, March 15th, starting at 8pm ET on the Pinball Degenerates YouTube channel.
For the uninitiated, The Pinball Degenerate Awards (AKA The DeGenies) comes from the beloved creative mind of Joe Ciaravino, founder of the best pinball group on Facebook, Pinball Degenerates, and one of the cornerstones of the modern pinball community.
This year, The Pinball Degenerate Awards will be presented in front of a live studio audience and feature a jam-packed night of Pintertainment© including:
- Variety acts
- A game show with prizes
- Comedy and musical sequences
- The most award categories in DeGenies history
We'll also get to learn more about the fate of Billy P. Ball, the much-loved Pinball Degenerates mascot, following the cliffhanger ending of the last DeGenies.
Following the clip that first aired at the 2024 TWIPY Awards (below), we at least can be assured that Billy P. Ball lives to see another day, thanks to the life-saving work of the famous Dr. Dude. That said, even with the renowned Dr. Dude by his side, Billy needs all the help he can get from the pinball community to pull through, which is why the organizers of The Pinball Degenerates Awards have put together a gofundme campaign to raise money for his life-saving medical treatment. Donations will be accepted through March 15th at midnight.
