"The Atarians" pinball machine, released by Atari in November 1976, was the company's first foray into pinball manufacturing. This widebody, solid-state machine featured several innovative designs, including the use of inductive sensors under the playfield rather than traditional rollover switches, offering a smoother, more reliable detection of ball movement. Designed by Bob Jonesi, with artwork by George Opperman, the game includes four flippers, three pop bumpers, and seven kick-out holes.
