Dutch Pinball is best known for its Big Lebowski-themed machine, which has been in and out of production since about 2017. Dutch Pinball only began releasing machines to the public in earnest in 2022. This renewed production effort came several years after numerous problems with their first edition of the game, which at one point caused Dutch Pinball's owners to notify pre-order customers that production on their games would not be completed, triggering a slew of legal problems and community backlash for the nascent company. However, they have been steadily working towards getting more games in customers hands and being a more reliable manufacturing presence in the community.

About Dutch Pinball
Dutch Pinball was established in the Netherlands in 2013 by co-founders Barry Driessen and Jaap Nauta, with the goal of creating high-quality, modern pinball experiences while paying homage to the game’s rich tradition. Their early work included “Bride of Pinbot 2.0,” an update to the classic 1991 Williams title, where new rules, improved audio, and modern display animations breathed fresh life into an iconic machine. Through this project, Dutch Pinball demonstrated a commitment to blending innovative engineering with a deep respect for traditional design, positioning themselves as a promising boutique manufacturer.
The company’s most recognized undertaking has been “The Big Lebowski,” a licensed pinball adaptation of the 1998 cult film by the Coen Brothers. Although the prototype garnered enthusiasm for its detailed playfield and film-accurate artwork, Dutch Pinball encountered significant production delays tied to a legal dispute with its manufacturing partner. These complications resulted in setbacks to machine shipments, pre-order refunds, and overall customer relations. Despite these hurdles, Dutch Pinball eventually shifted production to a new facility and began fulfilling outstanding orders in limited batches by around 2019. Through its resilience, Dutch Pinball remains an active contributor to the boutique pinball scene, continuously seeking to refine its manufacturing processes while staying true to the craftsmanship and innovation that first drew attention to the brand.
