Mr Game

Mr. Game was an Italian pinball manufacturer established in 1988 in Bologna, Italy, under the umbrella of the Mondial Group. While specific details about its founding personnel remain sparse, the company emerged amid a robust European market for coin-operated amusements and aimed to carve out its own niche through novel design choices and vibrant themes. Its significance lies in the fact that it was one of the few European pinball producers to contend with long-established American manufacturers during the late 1980s, bringing fresh ideas to an increasingly competitive industry.

During its short span of operation, Mr. Game released a small but memorable lineup of pinball machines, beginning with “Dakar” in 1988. This motorsport-inspired table was soon followed by “Motor Show” in 1989, as well as “Mac Attack” and “World Cup 90” in 1990. Known for employing dynamic layouts and incorporating lively audio-visual elements, these machines captured attention both in Italy and abroad, reflecting the company’s ambition to keep pace with cutting-edge developments in pinball technology. Despite earning a modest following, Mr. Game confronted strong competition from emerging video games and larger pinball manufacturers, leading to the eventual wind-down of its operations in the early 1990s. Although no longer in production, Mr. Game’s few titles remain notable among collectors, who regard them as emblematic of Italy’s distinctive contributions to pinball design and history.
