Gerry Stellenberg is an electrical engineer and pinball innovator best known for founding Multimorphic, Inc. and creating the P-ROC controller board. Initially inspired by his college experience playing Bally’s Theatre of Magic in the 1990s, Stellenberg combined his software background with a passion for pinball to develop new ways of rewriting and controlling pinball rules. His first major contribution, the P-ROC, empowered hobbyists and boutique manufacturers to build or modify pinball machines by providing a universal hardware interface between a PC and traditional pinball components.
Building on the P-ROC’s success, Stellenberg led the development of the P³ Pinball Platform, a modular and partially digital machine featuring a large LCD panel integrated into the playfield. This allows real-time ball tracking, interactive graphics, and swappable upper playfield modules—effectively creating a multi-game system within one cabinet. Patented for its hybrid physical-digital features, the P³ and its growing library of titles (including licensed games such as Weird Al’s Museum of Natural Hilarity) have demonstrated new gameplay possibilities and shifted industry thinking on how to modernize pinball. Throughout his career, Stellenberg has promoted openness and collaboration, influencing a community of designers and fostering a more flexible, software-focused approach to pinball game development.
